Grenada welcome Chinese Food Festival

The first Chinese food festival was successfully launched at the Sogecoa International Hotel on Dec 7,2013. H.E. Dame Cecile La Grenade, the Governor General,  Hon. Alexandra Otway-Noel, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation, and H.E. Mme Ou Boqian, the Chinese Ambassador, representatives from Chinese companies and those from local business attened the opening ceremony.

    Ms. Jenny Jiang, manager of Sogecoa expressed her excitement about accomplishing her goal to offer authentic Chinese food to local people."We want to share the joy of Chinese food with our guests and hope Sogecoa become the brand of best food resort in Grenada."SOGECOA SATURDAY"would be held at Sogecoa regularly, which be the window for guests to experience fresh and nutritious Chinese food and first-class services. She also announced to donate half of the income to the charity organizations.

H.E. Dame Cecile La Grenade extended welcome to the festival and highly valued the diversity, nutrition and beauty of Chinese cuisine. She encouraged Sogecoa to explore new dishs according to the local foodmaterialand add some Grenadian flavor to the Chinese cuisine.

Hon. Alexandra Otway-Noel, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation evaluated the first Chinese Food Festival as an excellent culture exchange, which created an opportunity for Grenadian to get a taste of Chinese cuisine and better understand the rich connotation of Chinese culture.

In her remarks, Ambassador Ou Boqian reiterated the importance of Chinese food in Chinese culture, not only the persuit of health and beauty, but also the channel to share, communicate and promote friendly relations. She expressed the Chinese's willingness to share the joy of Chinese food and to experience the marvelous Chinese culture with Grenadians.

The opening ceremony ends in tasting the diversified Chinese dished and Chinese tea.
