On November 11, 2022，Ambassador Wei Hongtian inspected the ongoing Maurice Bishop International Airport Upgrade Project together with Hon. Dennis Cornwall, Minister for Infrastructure and Physical Development, Public Utilities, Civil Aviation and Transportation, and Hon. Andy Williams, Minister for Mobilization, Implementation and Transformation. 

They visited the Asphalt Batching Plant, the construction sites of bypass road, Emergency Office Center and Apron and Taxiway expansion, and was updated on the progress of the project by the contractor, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC).

They commended the progress made on the project, and encouraged CHEC to enhance coordination and cooperation with the Airport Authority and the consultant side to complete the project with high quality.

After completion of upgrade project, the Maurice Bishop International Airport could accommodate more international airplanes, with up-to-international-standard services and more secure, efficient and comfortable experiences for passengers.
