On March 9th, 2022, Ambassador Wei Hongtian and his spouse Madame Liang Bing, as well as Hon. Yolande Bain-Horsford, Minister for Sports, Culture and the Arts, Fisheries and Co-operatives, Hon. Delma Thomas, Minister for Social Development, Housing & Community Empowerment, Hon. Pamela Moses, Minister for Needy Assistance, Uniform Allowance, Special Projects and ICT, and Hon. Kate Lewis, Minister for Youth Development had a cultural event to commemorate International Women's Day at the Chinese Ambassador’s residence in St. George's.

The celebration included a variety of cultural events that highlighted the contributions of women in Chinese society, such as Tu Youyou and Zhang Guimei, addressed the advancement of gender equality and promoting the empowerment of women in all their diversity, and invited participants to join in an experiential learning session of traditional Chinese food “jiaozi”.
