Ambassador Wei Hongtian Attended the Handover Ceremony of Dragon Bay Vendors Booth and Toilet Facility

    On June 14, 2022, Ambassador Wei Hongtian handed over Dragon Bay Vendors Booth and Toilet Facility to Prime Minister Dr. the Right Hon. Keith Mitchell. The project was funded by the Chinese Embassy in Grenada to improve community development and livelihood in Beausejour.

    Ambassador Wei noted that over the past 17 years since the resumption of diplomatic ties between China and Grenada, both sides have witnessed fruitful outcomes in bilateral cooperation which helps to promote the economic and social development of Grenada. The practical cooperation consists not only major projects in infrastructures, sports, agriculture, heath, law enforcement sectors, but also small-scale community projects. He believes that the Dragon Bay Vendors Booth and Toilet Facility will help to promote tourism and livelihood of Beausejour. China will continue to work closely with Grenada based on mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit to deepen the bilateral relations and benefit the two peoples.

    Prime Minister Keith Mitchell said that this project is special for himself as Beausejour is his hometown. Dragon Bay is adjacent to Underwater Sculpture Park, a famous tourist attraction in Grenada. He believes these modern facilities built in dragon bay will play an important role in improving local infrastructure, boosting tourism and adding income sources for local residents. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chinese government for the continuous support to Grenada.
