Ambassador Yang Shu Visited China-Grenada Agricultural Technical Cooperation Project and Attended the Project’s Conclusion Ceremony

On September 27, 2025, the conclusion ceremony of the Phase 8 China-Grenada Agricultural Technical Cooperation Project was held at the La Sagesse Agricultural Demonstration Center in St. David. H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, Hon. Lennox Andrews, Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Ministry of Agriculture, and Mr. Issac Bhagwan, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Agriculture, jointly attended the ceremony and delivered remarks. 

Ambassador Yang visited the agricultural demonstration center, listened to a comprehensive introduction by Chinese agricultural experts, and exchanged views with the Grenadian side on the implementation of the Phase 8th Project and the cooperation in the follow-up stage. In his remarks, he introduced overall situation of the achievements of China’s agricultural development and the development of China-aid agricultural technology cooperation, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture, local work partners and farmers for their strong support and collaboration. He said that the eight consecutive phases of the agricultural technical cooperation projects have witnessed the development of the relations between the two countries. Agriculture is the foundation of people’s livelihood. It is expected that the Phase 9th cooperation will be implemented early next year. We look forward to new cooperation between the two countries and their people and deepening friendship. 

Acting Prime Minister Andrews expressed his gratitude to China for its long-term support and assistance to Grenada, highly praising the contributions made by Chinese agricultural experts to food safety and production in Grenada, as well as their diligent, polite and service-oriented working spirit for the people and the country. He hopes to carry out more cooperation in agriculture and other fields to help Grenada realize agricultural self-sufficiency and independence.
