On May 16, 2025, H.E. Wei Hongtian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada held a press briefing on the outcomes of the just concluded Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum. Reporters from GIS, MTV, GBN and the New Today attended the event.

Ambassador Wei gave an in-depth elaboration of the “Five Programs ” proposed by President Xi Jinping in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum, along with the initiatives for their implementation. He also introduced the key consensus in the Beijing Declaration and the Joint Action Plan adopted at the meeting, reviewed the achievement of China-CELAC cooperation, and highlighted the progress made in various fields since the resumption of diplomatic ties between China and Grenada. Amb. Wei stated that China is willing to work with Grenada to further build consensus, deepen cooperation, and elevate both bilateral relations and the building of a China-LAC community with a shared future to a new level.   

Additionally, Ambassador Wei responded to reporters’ questions on China-LAC cooperation, bilateral relations and practical cooperation between China and Grenada, the Taiwan question and One China Principle, the impacts of the US tariff policy, and etc.
