On August 12, 2026, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, met with Mr. Arthur Hosten, President of the Grenada Steelpan Association. The two sides held an exchange of views on deepening cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Grenada.

Ambassador Yang noted that steelpan music, as a well-established traditional performing art in Grenada, enjoys extensive recognition in the Caribbean region and serves as an important emblem of local cultural identity. China places high priority on the protection and transmission of traditional culture and stands ready to actively support Grenada in promoting and developing steelpan art. 

Mr. Hosten expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for its long-term support for the preservation and development of Grenada's cultural heritage. He conveyed Grenada's readiness to further deepen cultural exchanges with China, continuously inject new momentum into bilateral cultural cooperation, and work together toward even more fruitful outcomes.
