On Monday evening, August 15，2022, Ambassador Wei Hongtian paid a visit to the construction site of the runway resurfacing of the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) Runway and Road Upgrade and Rehabilitation Project, where he was updated on the progress of the project and upcoming construction plans by the contractor, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC). He also gave an interview to GIS at the site. China Harbour promised that the project would be completed on time by July 2023.

    Ambassador Wei reiterated that the Chinese government remains commited to enhancing the friendly relations and practical cooperation between the two countries, and will continue to provide assistance and support to Grenada.
