On May 13, 2026, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People Republic of China to Grenada, along with Hon. Philip Telesford, Minister for Health of Grenada and MP for St. George South East Constituency, and Hon. Ron Redhead, MP for St. George North East Constituency, inspected a community project in the South East and North East Constituencies of the St. George parish.

Ambassador Yang stated that social services are an important part of grassroots governance. China has always attached great importance to optimizing the community environment and public facilities. China is willing to work together with Grenada to implement the Five Programs under the framework of the China-Latin America Community with a Shared Future, and contribute to community development through small but smart projects, continuously enhancing the sense of happiness and well-being of the Grenada people.

The Grenadian side expressed its gratitude to the Chinese side for its long-standing support for the community projects in Grenada. It is hoped that with the continuous assistance of the Chinese side, Grenada will further upgrade rural and community public facilities, create more cultural and sports activity venues for local residents, and enhance community cohesion.
