On August 30, 2022, Ambassador Wei Hongtian attended the lighting ceremony of Vole Playing Field Project，Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell, Foreign Minister Andall and other ministers attended. The project was funded by the Chinese Embassy in Grenada to improve sports facilities in St. David.

    Ambassador Wei said that over the past 17 years since the resumption of diplomatic ties between China and Grenada, both sides have witnessed fruitful outcomes in bilateral cooperation. The practical cooperation consists not only major projects in infrastructures, sports, agriculture, healthcare, law enforcement sectors, but also small-scale community projects. It is believed that the completion of the Lighting Project will further enhance the enthusiasm of the local people in sports. China is willing to continue to work closely with Grenada further deepening the bilateral relations for the benefit of the two peoples.

    Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell said that this project is special for himself as St. David is his constituency. He believes that the lighting playing field will play an important role in improving local sports and benefit the local residents. The PM highly praised the support from China to the social-economic development of Grenada and the ever-enhancing friendship between the two countries.
