On July 15, 2025, H.E. Wei Hongtian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, met with Mr. Chester Humphrey, former President of the Senate of Grenada, to exchange views on China-Grenada relations and and regional issues of common concerns.

Ambassador Wei reviewed the fruitful results in various fields over the past two decades as well as his fulfillment of duties and new progress of bilateral relations since his arrival in Grenada four and a half year ago, thanked Mr. Humphrey for his support to the development of China-Grenada relations and the work of the Chinese Embassy. He said that China will continue to provide assistance to Grenada's economic and social development and deepen cooperation with the Grenadian side in various fields, so as to enhance the well-being of the two peoples.

Mr. Humphrey praised China on its achievements in peaceful development and the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the Belt and Road Initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping. He expressed gratitude for China’s long-term generous assistance to Grenada and committed to further advancing Grenada-China friendship. He also highly commended Amb. Wei’s effort and achievement on promotion of the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
