On September 22, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Grenada, hosted a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and in Honor of H.E. Ambassador Yang Shu. The reception was joined by H.E. Dame Cécile La Grenade, Governor-General of Grenada, Hon. Dickon Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada and more than 150 distinguished guests and representatives of the Chinese community in Grenada .

Ambassador Yang briefed the audience on the great success of the Chinese people in achieving victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the achievements in economic and social development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, stated China’s position on the Global Governance Initiative(GGI), and expressed China’s readiness to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Grenada, jointly write a new chapter of bilateral relations, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Hon. Dickon Mitchell praised China’s contributions to winning the victory in the war against fascism and safeguarding world peace, and spoke highly of the GGI and China’s development achievements. He expressed gratitude for China’s valuable support, reaffirmed the commitment to the one-China principle, and pledged to continuously deepen bilateral relations.

The atmosphere of the reception was warm and friendly, with the audience deeply engaged by the lion dance performed by the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese songs and Grenadian dances presented by the TAMCC Confucius Institute.
