On October 14, 2025, H.E. Yang Shu, new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Emmalin Pierre, Leader of the Opposition and Political Leader of the New National Party(NNP), to exchange views on China-Grenada relations and party-to-party relations.

Ambassador Yang spoke highly of the right political decision  to resume the diplomatic relations with China made by the NNP-led government 20 years ago, appreciated its adherence to the one-China principal and its contribution to the development of the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries. He said that the Communist Party of China(CPC) and the NNP have maintained friendly relations over the past two decades, and China is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Grenada to promote the continuous development of friendly relations between the two countries. 

Hon. Pierre welcomed Ambassador Yang Shu to his new post, commended China’s development achievements and selfless assistance to Grenada, reaffirmed that the NNP will firmly adhere to the one-China principle and strengthen exchanges with the CPC to promote the friendly relations of the two countries to a new level.
