On November 6, 2025, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, and Hon. Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development and Member of Parliament for St. Patrick West, attended the Sod Turning Ceremony of the MT. Rodney By-Road Project.  

Ambassador Yang congratulated the project on its successful commencement, reviewed the "small and smart" projects implemented by the Chinese Embassy. He said that the project is the symbol of the friendship and cooperation between China and Grenada and will boost the socio-economic development of St. Patrick West, and China is willing to provide assistance to Grenada within its capacity to promote the development of bilateral relations and improve the well-being of the people.

Hon. Joseph Andall commended the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, thanked China for its assistance without binding any political conditions, praised the cooperation between the two countries setting an shining example for the international community. He said that Grenada attaches great importance to the friendship with China and is willing to strengthen cooperation in various fields with China to promote the bilateral relations to a new level.
