On March 6, 2026, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada attended the International Women’s Day Gathering hosted by the Chinese Embassy. More than 20 Grenadian ladies including Hon. Dr. Dessima Williams, Senate President, Hon. Claudette Joseph, Attorney General and Minister for Legal Affairs, Labour and Consumer Affairs, Hon. Kerryne James, Minister for Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy, senior officials from the government of Grenada, representatives of women organizations, civil societies, NGOs and medias, along with female diplomats from the Embassy attended the event.

Ambassador Yang extended festive greetings to all guests, underscored the vital role of women and affirmed their contributions to the development of human civilization. He introduced China’s new measures to advance the global women’s cause and commended Grenada’s efforts in women’s empowerment. He expressed the hope to continuously deepen exchanges on women’s causes and enhance the friendship between the two countries.

Participants enjoyed Chinese tea and music, watched an exquisite fruit carving performance by the embassy chef, and joined hands to make spring rolls and red bean pastries in a very warm and friendly atmosphere filled with joy and happiness.
