On March 24, 2026, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, met with H.E. Yadirys Echenique Paz, Ambassador of Cuba to Grenada, to exchange views on China-Cuba relations.

Ambassador Yang welcomed Ambassador Paz to her new post. He said that Cuba was the first country in the Latin American and Caribbean region to establish diplomatic relations with China, as well as the first country in the Western Hemisphere to forge a bilateral community with a shared future with China. Cuba has long been a good friend, good brother and good comrade of China. The Chinese Embassy stands ready to maintain close communication and cooperation with the Cuban Embassy to jointly promote Grenada’s economic and social development and improve people’s well-being.

Ambassador Paz spoke highly of the achievements made by the Chinese Embassy in Grenada over the years. She said that China is a good partner of Cuba. The Cuban Embassy hopes to maintain sound relations with the Chinese Embassy, actively create various opportunities for cooperation and exchanges, and jointly enhance the well-being of the Grenadian people.
