On July 11, 2025, H.E.Wei Hongtian, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Grenada attended the Orientation Session for the Seminar on Renewable Energy Technology for Grenada at the Olympic House in St.Gorege's. Officials from the Department of Public Administration and Ministry of Climate Resilience, The Environment & Renewable Energy and participants were present in the session.The Seminar, a China-aided bilateral training program, will be held in Lanzhou city, Gansu Province of China from 16 July to 5 August.

Amb. Wei briefed the participants on China's energy strategy as a whole and new achievement in the field of renewable energy development in particular,policy measure in tackling climate crisis, domestic determined contributions(NDCs), goals of carbon emission peak and carbon neutrality,international cooperation and China's contribution. He commended Grenadian strategy on energy transformation, stressed that renewable technology is  key to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and address climate change, reaffirmed  China's willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with, and continue to provide assistance to Grenada in the filed of renewable energy technology. He encouraged all the participants to upgrade their knowledge and technology by attending this seminar and devote themselves to the further development of Grenada's renewable energy.

Government officials, representative of trainees expressed their gratitude to China's long term support and assistance for Grenada's human resource development, urged all the participants to abide by discipline, cherish the opportunity, study hard, come back with new knowledge and skill and make contribution to the energy transition in Grenada.
